MSK Ultrasound Interpretations Easily Fit Into Your Practice and Process

Our team provides full support and end-to-end assistance to get you set up and running.

Welcome to SoundRheum Diagnostics, the office of A. Shane Anderson, MD, RhMSUS, RMSK and Ryan C. Jessee, MD, RhMSUS. Both Dr. Anderson and Dr. Jessee are board-certified rheumatologists who specialize in the interpretation of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) for other rheumatologists.

Diagnostic MSKUS is quickly becoming the imaging standard for several inflammatory conditions. In addition, diagnostic MSKUS offers a pathway to a new ancillary revenue stream in your office.

If your rheumatology office would like to offer diagnostic MSKUS to your patients but lack the time, equipment, or expertise to do so, contact us for assistance.

The nation's only rheumatology practice focusing exclusively on reading MSK ultrasound

SoundRheum trains a sonographer in our MSK ultrasound scanning protocol. After the sonographer is trained, the referring provider can order diagnostic MSK ultrasound just like they would an x-ray or lab test. The ultrasound study is uploaded to our secure web application and interpreted by one of our rheumatologists. Study results are typically available 48 hours after upload.

All studies are read by one of our rheumatologists. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Jessee are both highly skilled and experienced in the interpretation of diagnostic MSK ultrasound, having read more than 150,000 studies between them.

The practice bills the payer for the ultrasound study. SoundRheum bills the practice in the amount of the local Medicare rate for the reading services, while the practice retains the technical component, which reimburses the referring provider for the cost of the sonographer and ultrasound machine.
